(Part 1)

I came across many victims from among the countries like Taiwan, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand and etc. Scammers create fake FACEBOOK profiles using photos of other people and even stolen photos of real Actor, Dj, Model, etc. Scammers commonly introduced themselves as from China, currently residing and working in Hong Kong.

Scammers will normally add potential victims via the FACEBOOK (Messager) then switch to either LINE or WECHAT to continue chatting. They will use their FACEBOOK as initial contact point. Most of the scammers' Facebook are either inactive or some can be very active but no personal activities posted. They will study your Facebook information then tug your heart with made-up stories, after they establish a relationship with you. They come up with reasons about how they need money like for emergencies, hospital bills, fast return on investment, new business ventures and etc.

Here are some warning signs that an online love scammer profile might be a fake:-
1) They have limited photos to show you and always claimed that they do not like to take photos;
2) Majority of them will not video chat with you. They will give all kind of excuses to say "NO";
3) Eventually, they will ask you for money........

Did you know you can do an image search of your love interest’s photo in your favorite search engine? If you do an image search and the person’s photo appears under several different names, you’re probably dealing with a scammer.

WARNING: Do not send money to someone you met online for any reason. If your online dating asks for money, you can expect it’s a scam.

Unfortunately, online dating scams are all too common. There may be tens of thousands of victims, and only a small fraction reported to the Police.
